SouthStar CDC welcomes James Brooks to Board

Urban Planner, restauranteur and southeast Atlantan James Brooks was appointed to the SouthStar CDC Board of Directors.

SouthStar CDC appointed James Brooks of Boulevard Group and Graveyard Tavern to its Board of Directors for a two year term.

Mr. Brooks is the president and founding partner of Boulevard Group, Inc., an award-winning planning and development firm with significant experience in developing and managing urban revitalization projects in such diverse cities as Atlanta, Chicago, New Orleans, Birmingham and Chattanooga. Brooks is the former deputy executive director of the Atlanta Housing Authority, where he led the team that developed Centennial Place, the mixed-income, mixed-use development that became a national model for urban housing development and affordable housing revitalization. Prior to his tenure with AHA, he was a senior planning and development officer for the City of Atlanta. He is a graduate of Georgia State University.

Mr. Brooks is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners, the Congress for New Urbanism, and the American Planning Association.
